DAY 1 – LOS ANGELES, CA – We meet at the Jackson International Airport this morning to begin our exciting “Lion King” Goes Hollywood tour. Our destination is Los Angeles: the mythical city of dreams, schemes, fame and fortune, the City of Angels. Upon arrival we meet our local guide who will be with us for all excursions. Enroute to our Hollywood hotel, we enjoy the coastline of Santa Monica and have lunch at one of the many restaurants with an ocean view. After checking into the famous Roosevelt Hotel, we have time to walk across the street and match your handprints and footprints from stars of all eras at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater. We take the newest means of transportation, the Subway located across the street from our hotel to the beautiful Pantages Theater, where you will enjoy the Broadway hit, “Lion King.” (L)
DAY 2 – Our Hollywood adventure continues this morning on a guided tour behind the scenes of Hollywood. Beverly Hills and movie stars’ homes tour, along with a catered buffet lunch at the Farmer’s Market. After lunch we have a tour at one of the most beautiful Greek Orthodox churches in the City of the Angels. The evening is at leisure. (L)
DAY 3 – Universal Studios, the world’s largest motion picture and TV studio awaits your visit. You will see more then 500 outdoor sets, ranging from the Bates Mansion from Psyche to the facades of Back to the Future and Kojak as you relax on the glamour tram that takes you through the backlot of the 420 acres. After the 45 minute tram ride you will have time to enjoy the entertainment center’s exciting live shows. There will be plenty of time to relax at the hotel before your dinner awaits you at a Scottish Pub. (D)
DAY 4 – After breakfast our guide and motorcoach will take us to the Getty Center, which is perched dramatically on 110 hilltop acres in the Santa Monica Mountains, 7 stunning, low-scale geometric-shaped pavilions – each housing a period in art history – are linked by bridges and
lush formal gardens. Our final evening will be a magical experience as you sit back and enjoy a meal with professional magicians, at the dinner theater, Wizardz. (D)
DAY 5 – HOMEWARD – After a leisurely breakfast we board the motorcoach for transfer to the Los Angeles Airport. Relax and enjoy the flight homeward with many fond memories of our exciting four days in the City of Angels.

DAY 1 – SAN ANTONIO, TX – We begin our exciting tour of the west today departing Jackson early morning. We make our way through Baton Rouge, LA, and travel through the rich East Texas oil fields to San Antonio where we spend tonight.
DAY 2 – EL PASO, TX -Today we travel across the Big Bend area of Texas arriving El Paso in time for a trip to the International Bridge. We’ll spend tonight in enchanting El Paso.
DAY 3 – PHOENIX, AZ – We depart El Paso this morning and travel west to the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico. We pass Las Cruces at an elevation of 3,500-feet and then on to Deming, elevation of 4,315-feet. We’ll cross the Continental Divide and make a sightseeing stop at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum to view interesting exhibits featuring live animals and vegetation indigenous to the Sonoran Desert. We continue to Phoenix for the night. (B)
DAY 4 – SEDONA, AZ – GRAND CANYON, AZ – We are in for an exciting day as we depart Phoenix this morning and travel into the Red Rock area of central Arizona. We make a brief stop at the Chapel of the Cross, which is perched between two pinnacles of uniquely colored red sandstone. Then we continue northward into the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We check into our hotel to freshen up before going to the Visitor’s Center for orienta-tion. The remainder of the afternoon is free to explore on your own. You will surely want to watch the sun set over the Canyon this evening. (B)
DAY 5 – BAKERSFIELD, CA – Don’t miss the sun rise over the magnificent Grand Canyon this morning! Then we’re off to Kingman and Needles where we stop for lunch and a visit to the Casino. We travel on to Bakersfield this afternoon to claim our reservations for tonight.
DAY 6 -YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK – SACRAMENTO, CA – This morning we visit Yosemite National Park, rough-ly the size of the state of Rhode Island, and a United Nations World Heritage site. The naturalist John Muir wrote, “No temple made with hands can compare with Yosemite.” The valley is 1 mile wide and 7 miles long cut by a river and glacier action. Walled by massive domes and soaring pinnacles, the valley covers about one per-cent of the park. Upon arrival at Yosemite Lodge we board one of the park trams for a two hour guided overview tour of the park. Following our tour we continue north to Sacramento, CA, for tonight. (B)
DAY 7 – EUREKA, CA – We travel north on 1-5 this morning to Redding, CA, the hub city of Northern California. The vast and scenic Shasta-Cascade region is located at the top of the Sacramento Valley, in the shadow of majestic Mt. Shasta. The rugged Coast Range is to the west, the Cascades on the north and the Sierra Nevada on the east. We continue to Eureka for overnight. (D)
DAY 8 – CALIFORNIA REDWOODS – SAN FRANCIS-CO, CA – We depart Eureka this morning for a short drive to Humboldt Redwoods State Park. The park encompasses more than 51,000-acres, including 17,000-acres of old growth redwoods. The park is bisected by US 101 from Miranda on the south to Pepperwood on the north. This highway is paralleled by a road through the park called Avenue of the Giants, site of redwoods 300-feet tall. After our visit we travel on to San Francisco to claim our reser-vations for the next two nights. This afternoon we enjoy a narrated cruise on San Francisco Bay.
DAY 9 – NAPA VALLEY AREA & WINE COUNTRY This morning we enjoy a 3 hour guided tour of San Francisco that includes Chinatown, Seal Rock, the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf. Then we make a lunch stop enroute to Sonoma, CA, where we enjoy a tour and wine tasting at a local winery. We return to San Francisco this afternoon with time to relax. Tonight, we have reserved seats for the fun-filled show “Shear Madness”.
DAY 10 – MONTEREY – CARMEL – SAN LUIS OBISPO- A morning drive takes us from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, CA, where we board an authentic 19th Century nar-row-gauge steam locomotive that will carry us up steep grades through groves of giant redwoods. The trip takes about an hour, and then we continue on to Monterey for a stop at Cannery Row. After lunch we travel to Carmel-by-the-Sea for some shopping. We will overnight in San Luis Obispo tonight. (D)
DAY 11 – HEARST CASTLE – SOLVANG – SANTA BARBARA, CA – Today we make a sightseeing stop at the famous Hearst Castle, home of the newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst. It houses antiques, art treasures and exotic possessions estimated at a cost of $50 million. We will make a stop in historic Solvang, CA, for time to buy some baked goods and lunch. We continue to Santa Barbara this afternoon to claim our reservations for tonight. The evening is free to enjoy this picturesque town by the sea. (L)
DAY 12 – SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – SAN DIEGO, CA- This morning we head southward skirting Los Angeles and arrive San Juan Capistrano for sightseeing at the Old Mission. This is the unique place where swallows depart each year on St. John’s Day and return on St. Joseph’s Day. We travel on to Escondido for a sightseeing tour of Lawrence Welk Village. We continue to San Diego this afternoon to claim our reservations for the next two nights.
DAY 13 – SAN DIEGO, CA -TIJUANA – This morning we meet our local guide for sightseeing to include the Old Town, Point Loma and its beautiful harbor, Cabrillo Monument and Seaport Village. Our afternoon is free for shopping in Tijuana or to explore on your own in San Diego.
DAY 14 – DEMING, NM – We bid farewell to California this morning and travel east through El Centro and Yuma arriv-ing Deming, NM, for the night.
DAY 15 – CARLSBAD CAVERNS – ABILENE, TX – A morning drive through Las Cruces and Alamogordo and we arrive Carlsbad for lunch. This afternoon we enjoy a tour of Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We then continue eastward to Abilene, TX, for overnight.
DAY 16 – HOMEWARD – We depart Abilene this morning and pass Dallas, TX, for a lunch stop enroute. An afternoon drive through Shreveport brings us to Jackson arriving by late afternoon to end our memorable tour of the west.
